Tottenham defender Michael Dawson believes Spurs are playing the best football in the Premier League.
Dawson has been out of action for four months with an Achilles injury suffered against Manchester City in August. In that time, the 28-year-old has seen Spurs mount a serious title challenge, moving to three points from the top.
"We've lost one in 18 and that doesn't come easy, it comes with hard work and performing week in and week out," said the England international.
Asked if Spurs were playing the best football, he said: "I think so, yes.
"I've been out for a long time and I've watched a lot of football and I've watched a lot of Tottenham.
The Londoners are level on points with Manchester United and trail Manchester City by three points. They host Wolves on Saturday and travel to Etihad Stadium on 22 January.
Dawson admitted that Tottenham's target at the start of the season was to regain a place in the Champions League after missing out last season.
He said: "Our main aim is to be in the top four and to be in that Champions League spot and after the first two games [defeats by Manchester United and City], losing the way we did, was disappointing.
"We're only just over halfway in the league and we're in a great position."
Meanwhile, assistant manager Kevin Bond told BBC Radio 5 live that Spurs are starting to get to grips with the difficulties of dealing with life at the top of the Premier League.
"I think we're beginning to realise what clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool, who are constantly at the top every year, have to put up with," he said.
"It's a compliment to us. A lot of teams come and try to make it difficult for us but our home form has been good and we have been able to stay at the top end of the table."
Bond, 54, also revealed that he is not expecting many new signings at White Hart Lane during the January transfer window.
"You only want to bring them in if they can improve the side. That becomes increasingly difficult when you're at the top," he added.
"I'm doubtful that Harry [Redknapp] will make signings in this transfer window. He certainly won't be bringing in people for the sake of it."
